This was my first ever book signing and I was really excited to meet Jasper Fforde. I can say that the experience was brilliant and Jasper was really lovely and friendly. He was happy to answer our questions and have a photo taken. I managed to get my copy of Shades Of Grey signed and also bagged a lovely postcard.
Book cover and postcard. |
I thought the book cover was fantastic as it was really relevant to the story. I kept saying to Dani that I wanted to colour in the picture, it was very much like paint by numbers I used to do as a child. I really liked the postcard, I still have it now. I'm going to keep it as a souvenir.
I really would love to go to another author book signing, how nice to meet the person who created such a brilliant work of fiction. I'm alway envious of their talent, but then again I love to read and writing would take up too much of my precious reading time :D

Shades Of Grey: The Road To High Saffron by Jasper Fforde
Goodreads Synopsis:
Hundreds of years in the future, after the Something that Happened, the world is an alarmingly different place. Life is lived according to The Rulebook and social hierarchy is determined by your perception of colour.
Eddie Russett is an above average Red who dreams of moving up the ladder by marriage to Constance Oxblood. Until he is sent to the Outer Fringes where he meets Jane – a lowly Grey with an uncontrollable temper and a desire to see him killed.
For Eddie, it’s love at first sight. But his infatuation will lead him to discover that all is not as it seems in a world where everything that looks black and white is really shades of grey...
If George Orwell had tripped over a paint pot or Douglas Adams favoured colour swatches instead of towels . . . neither of them would have come up with anything as eccentrically brilliant as Shades of Grey.
