Goodreads Synopsis:

“I’ve left some clues for you.
If you want them, turn the page.
If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”

So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the bestselling authors of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?

Rachel Cohn and David Levithan have written a love story that will have readers perusing bookstore shelves, looking and longing for a love (and a red notebook) of their own.

My Review:

Well this is certainly one to warm the soul.  A very sweet festive treat that will take you away on an exciting journey.

I have to say when I read the synopsis I thought it sounded good and I wasn't wrong.  I liked the excitement and anticipation each step in the notebook took.  It was very imaginative and I enjoyed every bit.  Definitely one to read around Christmas, it only enhances the festive cheer.  I got quite caught up with all the drama surrounding the notebook.

I thought the story flowed nicely and I couldn't wait to find out what happened to the two main characters Dash & Lily - who I adored!  They seemed so real and I felt a connection with each of them.  They each had their own quirks and flaws and this only made them more endearing to the reader.  I think Lily just pipped the post as my favourite character, I thought she was fun and adorable.  I really liked the addition of the family and friends, they all played their part in the story and not a character was wasted.

I loved the colourful descriptions in this book, I could certainly picture the scenery and the characters; this made it seem even more realistic.  I've never been to New York, let alone Christmas time in New York.   Now I definitely want to experience Christmas in New York!  I certainly want to make my own snarly muppet.......... :P

I liked that this book is written by the two authors, Rachel Cohn wrote from the POV of Lily and David Levithan wrote the POV of Dash, you could hear the two different character voices.

My only criticism is that I wished the story had been longer as I could not get enough!  So on this note yes I do indeed recommend this book, but to make it feel even more special you need to read it near Christmas.

Overall:
A sweet and thrilling festive ride through New York

My Thoughts on the Cover:
There seems to be a lot going on in the cover, it is quite busy.  It definitely has the New York festive feel to it.  I must say that if I saw this cover in the bookstore I don't think it would jump out at me and say "buy me!" It's not the usual cover I would be attracted to.
