***REVIEW*** Before I Go To Sleep by S. J. Watson

Synopsis:

'As I sleep, my mind will erase everything I did today. I will wake up tomorrow as I did this morning. Thinking I'm still a child. Thinking I have a whole lifetime of choice ahead of me ...' Memories define us. So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep? Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love - all forgotten overnight. And the one person you trust may only be telling you half the story. Welcome to Christine's life.

Review:

Sometimes you get books that grip you from the start, take you on a rollercoaster journey and then spit you out at the end.  This was one of those books.
From the word go I was hooked!  Here is a woman who has amnesia and loses all her short term memory when she falls asleep at night.  She relies on her husband Ben and a Doctor Nash to fill the missing blanks in for her.  Thrilling and exciting, I did find myself gasping in astonishment at the twist and turns the story took.
I can see this being one of my top books of the year.  I only ever give five stars to books I think are awesome. I can see me raving about this for a long long time. Would I recommend this book?  Absolutely!!

Cover 2/5 – it’s mysterious but not eye catching.
Story 5/5 – this was unreal, a real page turner in my opinion.

I agree about the cover. Doesn't look like the type of book I'd read. However the blurb sounds great. Thanks for the review.

Thank you for this wonderful review. I especially like that you did not give a lot away, leaving a lot for the reader to discover on their own - but you definitely infused a sense of mystery into your review, which makes me want to read this book that much more! :)

Also, I agree that the cover doesn't necessarily scream at you, but there is definitely an element of mystery to it. Thank you, again, for this wonderful review. I cannot WAIT to read this book! :D

I read about this book a long time ago and ever since I wanted to read it. I admit, the cover really isn't the best and probably doesn't do the story justice but still, it's a bit mysterious. :)

This sounds like an interesting book. It reminds me of a movie that was out several years ago - "Memento."

I just ordered this book last weekend, I can't wait to read it. I've read so many good reviews of it recently and seen it listed on quite a few "best of 2011" lists.

This book is on Richard and Judy's book list and they have raved about it, as has everybody else i have seen comment on it. I saw an interview they did with the author and it definitely piqued my interest. I hear there are some big twists and turns in it so I am definitely adding it to my list!

Thanks for the great review :) The blurb of this book got my attention too and is already on my TBR list. I once saw a movie on Lifetime that was somewhat similar.

This has been receiving a lot of raves. I have not yet had the chance to read it yet, but it is on my list. It does sound like a page turner! But, how frightening, too, to wake up and lose your memory. I have NO idea what I would do.

I just finished this book last week, I thought it was an interesting idea and I enjoyed it but felt it didn't really live up to the raves I had been reading about it. Maybe this was because I guessed the twist about halfway through. However it is definitely a page turner and I read it in one weekend.

I really don't like the cover of this either. However, I do think this book sounds like it'll be a good read. Whenever I see my library has it, I'll definitely check it out.

I've been dying to read this book - the premise seems so very interesting. I read something on the same theme in "What Alice Forgot" by Lane Moriarty, however, this seems so much more mysterious and intriguing. Loved your review, since it was so short, simple and succinct! Thank you for this wonderful review! :D

Oh, the blurb and your review intrigue me. I think I will consider this one to put on on my TBR list. But I have to agree with you, the cover is soooo not eye catching lol.. Too bad, cause I'm the 'fall for the cover' kind of reader ;)

Wow!! I HAVE to read this book! This is like "my thing" book. Somehow it's kinda remind me of Lauren Oliver's book, Before I Fall (which is one of my favorite).

Your review is great, makes me really want to read this book by myself.
Thank u :)
