Blog To Blog - Featured Blog Interview #1

Every week I am going to do a feature called Blog to Blog.  Blog to Blog is where I will choose a blog and ask the blog owner questions.  This week I've chosen Dani from Pen To Paper.

First of all I would like to welcome Dani and thank her for taking part in this new feature.

What is your blog mainly about?

My blog is mainly about books. I've been an avid reader all of my life, but in the past 3 years or so, this has slowly become an obsession! I probably own somewhere in the region of 300 physical books and more on my Kindle.
The blog is also about my time at university studying English and Creative Writing, and if you're lucky, you may even get to see extracts of the Creative stuff I'll be doing over the next year.

What inspired you to start blogging?

I actually started a blog on another provider a couple of years ago, but I didn't really put much thought into it at the time and it only contained a few sporadic reviews of books I'd read. My newer blog is the real deal. After seeing a few friends blogging, I decided to give it a shot myself. I knew that if I blogged about books and university I would have plenty to post about - I live, eat and breathe books!

So far what has been your best post?

Goodness, I'm not sure! I know in my mind some of them are better than others, and we are always more critical of our own work, but there have been two posts that have been more popular than the others; 'Introducing: The Obsession' (http://vogue-pentopaper.blogspot.com/2011/09/introducing-obsession.html), a post about my obsessive book-collecting, and 'Electronic Dictionary Bookmark' (http://vogue-pentopaper.blogspot.com/2011/09/electronic-dictionary-bookmark.html), which is really self-explanatory. They're worth taking a look!

To all the bookaholics out there, what book would you recommend?

Just one book, or can I recommend a series? It really depends on an individual's reading tastes! I'm a fairly open-minded reader, and will try anything once, so I get through a variety of different books. I would say, if you enjoy a more challenging, literary read, go for  The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, it's an absolutely wonderful and beautifully-written masterpiece. However, if you're looking for a gripping, exciting read but something a little lighter, I would highly recommend the Sookie Stackhouse (AKA True Blood) novels by Charlaine Harris.

Name three of your favorite authors.

Charlaine Harris would definitely top the list, followed by Barbara Kingsolver and Jasper Fforde.

Which three blogs would you recommend.

Aside from 'Chocolate Chunky Munkie', which of course I highly recommend, I would also implore you to visit:  The Secret Writer, Books For Company  and  So Many Books So Little Time  - all four are more than worth your time!
Have you got anything exciting  coming up on your blog?

I definitely do! Although my blog only began at the beginning of September this year, I am already up to my eyeballs in arranging events and giveaways. I will be participating in the 'Spooktacular' giveaway blog hop at the end of October, with many other fantastic book blogs (the details for which can be found here:  I Am A Reader Not A Writer or as a button at the top of my blog page), and I am also arranging my first independant giveaway for when I reach 100 followers. The quicker I get there, the closer the giveaway will be, and I have a wonder title selected for this particular giveaway.
Also keep an eye out for author interviews! They are just around the corner!

Once again thank you Dani for taking the time to answer my questions :D
If you would like your blog to feature on my weekly Blog to Blog just let me know!

I've got a stack of Charlaine Harris books here (I got 10 for £10!) and keep meaning to read them.

This is a good feature :)
