Top Ten Tuesday #8

Every Tuesday The Broke and the Bookish  hosts Top Ten Tuesday, a meme in which a new and different top ten list appears.

This weeks Top Ten list is:

Top Ten Books on my TBR List for Winter

It's nice to have some books to save up for the cold winter months.  Time to grab a blanket, a nice hot cup of tea and a good book :D

#1
Poison Study by Maria V Snyder - This has been sat on my tbr for a while now.  I have finished the Opal Cowan series - which I really enjoyed - so I need to move on to this series.  I've been saving this one up.

#2
The Sookie Stackhouse Companion by Charlaine Harris - This looks such a cool book, jam packed full of information and stories all related to the series.  This book will be read in snippets, I'm going to savour this one :)

#3
The Golden Compass  by Phillip Pullman - The cover has a polar bear on it.  It looks like a winter scene, therefore it would be ideal as a winter read.  I did see the film a long time ago, I've left it long enough now to read the book.  I don't know about you, but I much prefer to read the book first before I see the film.

#4
The Island by Victoria Hislop- set in Greece, this conjures a picture of a warm sun filled Greek setting.  Perfect for getting away from the cold wintery weather.

#5
Sepulchre by Kate Mosse- This was my Read it Swap It book challenge for this year.  I've had a whole year to read it but I haven't...... ooops.  I still have a few weeks to go.  Maybe I can squeeze it in and read it before the end of the year.  Mind you it is a thick book, so wish me luck!!

#6
The Big Over Easy by Jasper Fforde - I need a book by this author to bring me out of my winter blues.  His books are brilliant and I haven't read this series yet.  One to savour in the cold months.

#7
Around The World in 80 Days by Michael Palin - I can travel the world with Michael Palin and not leave the comfort of my armchair.  His books are full of travel information and his superb personality.

#8
Ill Wind by Rachel Caine -  Book one in the Weather Warden series.  I tend to be aware of the weather a bit more in winter.  So the Weather Warden series seems quite a good series to read.

#9
The Winter Ghosts - This is another book by Kate Mosse.  But seeing as though this book has a wintery name and cover, then I will add this to my list.  It's been on my tbr for a while now, I must get it read soon and moved onto my read pile.

#10
Wolfsbane & Mistletoe by Charlaine Harris et al - This is a festive anthology with different authors including Charlaine Harris.  I think this is about the only book I have on my TBR pile with a festive theme.  I bought this book when I was on holiday in the US, so it's a very special keeper copy.

What books do you have on your TBR pile for Winter???

I still need to read Poison Study. I have an ARC of it- that's how long it's been sitting on my shelf...

You know, I didn't think about the idea of reading something perky during winter....that's a smart idea. Not sure if my reads are very uplifting....
