Final Blogoversary Post - Giveaway of The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper FForde

Hi Guys!  Well this is the last event of my Blogoversary celebrations.  I've had great fun posting and have had some really lovely comments.

So my final thank you to my followers is a signed first edition hardback copy of The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde.

A couple of weeks ago myself and Dani @ Pen To Paper were very excited to go to a fun filled weekend at the Fforde Ffiesta event. This is basically an event celebrating all the fabulous things from the books by author Jasper Fforde.  Whilst there I managed to get a book signed for this giveaway.  So here are the details of the book - you can see my review of The Last Dragonslayer HERE.

Goodreads Synopsis:

In the good old days, magic was powerful, unregulated by government, and even the largest spell could be woven without filling in the magic release form B1-7g. But somewhere, somehow, the magic started draining away.

Jennifer Strange runs Kazam!, an employment agency for state-registered magicians, soothsayers and sorceresses. But work is drying up. Drain cleaner is cheaper and quicker than a spell. Why trust a cold and drafty magic carpet when jetliners offer a comfy seat and an in-flight movie? And now potions are eligible for VAT...

But then the visions start. The Last Dragon is going to be killed by a Dragonslayer at 12.00 on Sunday. The death will unleash untold devastation on the UnUnited Kingdom, setting principality against dukedom and property developer against homesteader. And all the signs are pointing to Jennifer Strange, and saying"Big Magic is coming!"

The Last Dragonslayer is fizzing with all the creativity and genius Jasper Fforde's fans delight in, and will appeal as much to the young at heart as to the younger readers for whom it is written.

I choose my next book to read via Goodreads. :) I usually browse through their list or their recommended list based on the shelves I have there.

I either pick a random book out of my collection or ask my friends on Facebook and Twitter for advice.

I literally look at my TBR list on goodreads, and then pick the one out of it that appeals to me most. I normally find I have a pretty extensive TBR, so that's normally okay!

If not, I find something on my Amazon wishlist that really appeals to me at the time!

Usually I read a few reviews. If I like the sound of it and already know of the author, I'll probably give it a chance.

Before Goodreads I used to just pick stuff up randomly but now I definitely go through my wishlist :) it makes it so much easier to find great reads!!

I browse through my TBR list on goodreads, reread the summary and read the one that sounds most appealing at the moment.

I usually just browse my own shelves and grab what sounds/looks good at the moment, though I keep a running list of books the library owns that I want to read soon, and those get read as they're available. :)

I browse the internet and I go on retail therapy. I also have a list of future releases books which had been pre-ordered which I usually read as soon as they arrive in the post. :)

I see what has been getting good reviews and hype on blogs, and I have a huge list I've compiled of books I want to read when they're released. I'll also look through goodreads and see the types of ratings & reviews books are getting!

I check the latest reviews from my friends on Goodreads or I check my TBR pile on Goodreads. :)

Thanks for the giveaway!

I have a hard time choosing my next book because there are so many I want to read! I get ideas from goodreads, blogs and just looking around at the library. After that, it's just random between all the books on my TBR list!

I check in Goodreads or Shelfari for recommendations or really depends on my mood. Happy Blogversary!

I open my cupboard and pick whichever suits my mood or see when which of my review lists is next to be published :)

Happy Blogoversary!

I find books to read by reading the reviews on book blogs.

I have a huge TBR pile at home and am going through them one by one. I also add to the pile when I get new releases from recommendations from book blogs like yours! :)

Thanks,
Leanne

Thank you for the great giveaway!

Choosing the next book I read is really hard. I have grabbed a random book off the shelf, picked one because the movie based on it is playing, picked one off my TBR list because it is a short book, or picked one from my TBR pile because I realized I dropped the ball and needed to have the review done before that moment.

I have a shelf that I put MUST READ books on and generally it's a random grab.

I have a list what book I must read next. But sometimes I didn't always follow the list, depends on my mood :D

I'm always choosing by my heart. It's easy for me :) I love so many different genres, what I pick always depends on my actual mood :D

Happy Blogoversary Jenny! My choices tend to be dominated by review books, depending what is coming out when and so on. Must have been brilliant to go to the Fforde Fiesta! x

Mainly it depends on my mood :) I read & enjoy almost all genres, and I want to be in a mood for the type of book I read, 'cause then I can enjoy it to the max ;) so I'm not good on keeping up to schedule, I just pick whatever I feel like reading at the moment :) I'm such a moody reader!

I look at the piles (and piles and piles) of books next to my bed to see what grabs my mood, or think about what I've downloaded to my Kindle lately, or else look at the pile of books I've got from the library! It's always an event with me, moving from one book to the next... usually for the first bit I have to have two (or three) books with me and I read the first chapter or so of each to see which one grabs me right then.
