This weeks Top Ten list is:
Ten All Time Favourite Characters
#1 Miss Havisham from Great Expectations by Charles Dickens - Bitter and twisted, Miss Havisham is a complex and haunting character. Jilted as a bride on her wedding day, her bitterness overflows and corrupts other people lives. I remember being fascinated by her when I read Great Expectations at school.
#2 Sookie Stackhouse from The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris - This Southern gal is just awesome. The things she has faced most people would have run a mile from. A real action packed gal who has a heart of gold. She is one of my all time favourite characters and I just love her!!
#3 Elder in Across The Universe by Beth Revis - I love this character, he has his flaws but overall he comes across as a lovely guy. So much rests on his shoulders, you have to admire him for keeping his cool.
#4 Bram from Dearly Departed by Lia Habel - Yes he is a zombie, but he is a really sweet natured guy at heart, I never thought I would think zombie romance would work but it does and Bram has turned into a real heart throb lol. I really loved the chemistry between Bram & Nora.
#5 Pressia from Pure by Julianna Baggott - Despite living through a total world apocalypse and having a doll head fused to her hand, Pressia is a such an admirable character. She really does have some spirit and fight, especially when those she loves are threatened. To have grown up in a world like this and come out of it with such amazing qualities is admirable.
#6 Lord Akeldama from The Parasol Protectorate Series by Gail Carriger - A gay and flamboyant vampire, he can be a lot of fun but also has some series sides. Especially when it comes to Biffy one of his drones, he is protective and you can see genuine emotion. I really liked the fun and frivolity of Lord Akeldama. He injected some humor into the books. I really enjoyed this character immensely.
#7 Aurora Teagarden from the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries series by Charlaine Harris - A super sleuthing gal who also happens to be a librarian. I love Roe she is such a sweet and likable character, who deep down her a certain grit about her. She faces so much drama in her life it's a wonder she can still function normally. I really liked this character.
#8 Mort from Mort by Terry Pratchett - I read this book in my teens and it is one of my favourite Discworld books because it has Mort in it. Poor Mort finds that he has to become Death's apprentice. Along this journey he comes across as a very likable and lovable character. It's not easy becoming an apprentice for one of the most feared people. I will be reading this book again sometime soon as I loved it and loved the character Mort :)
#9 Hagrid from Harry Potter series by J K Rowling - I think this big bear of a man is lovely. He can be clumsy at times and has a penchant for weird and sometimes dangerous creatures. You can really see the love he has for Harry, it really is quite touching. Hagrid is one of my favourite characters from the books. He is awesome!
#10 Precious Ramotswe from The Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith - I think this character is superb. She is totally unconventional, she does not follow the norm of any unmarried ladies. She sells her late Father's farm and sets up a ladies detective agency, She can be very steely and determined, this lady know what she wants but also she has a very tender heart. I loved the rich culture of this character and also her setting in Botswana.
What do you think of these characters? Who is your all time favourite character in a book?

Great picks Jenny! I've not heard of a few of them but I'll be sure to keep an eye out for them. Donna xoxo
Great list, especially lovable ol' Hagrid. I haven't read any Pratchett novels, but I've heard of Mort and doesn't sound half bad.
Feel free to visit my list here :)
Good list and I find Miss Havisham to be fasincating as well.
Definitely agree with Sookie, Aurora and Lord Akeldama! Love to all three of them! :)
I think I'd have to throw Alexia Tarabotti into the mixture as well, though, and maybe Quinn from the Sookie Stackhouse series - he's amazing!
Great post hun :)
