Friday Recommends #6

Friday Recommends is a weekly meme hosted by Dani at Pen To Paper.  This is where we list a book we would highly recommend.

I'm quite excited about this new feature as one of the things I love is being able to share the news about a great book.  We've all been there!  After reading a fab book you want to shout out to the world how great it is.

The rules for Friday Recommends are:
  • Follow Pen to Paper as host of the meme.
  • Please consider adding the blog hop button to your blog somewhere, so others can find it easily and join in too! Help spread the word! The code will be at the bottom of the post under the linky.
  • Pick a book that you've read, and have enjoyed enough to recommend to other readers. It can be a book you've read recently, or a book you read years ago - it's up to you - but make sure you tell us why you love the book (like a mini review). You make the post as long or as short as you like.
  • Add your blog to the linky at the bottom of this post after posting your blog post.
  • Put a link back to pen to paper (http://vogue-pentopaper.blogspot.com) somewhere in your post.
  • Visit the other blogs and enjoy!
My choice this week is:

Goodreads Synopsis:

The little cat Deric Longden saw sitting forlornly on an upturned bucket belonged to the neighbours, but somehow when it began to rain it seemed only natural to bring him inside. Once there he slipped so easily into Deric and Aileen's lives that there was an unspoken agreement that he had found his real home. Little did he know that he had entered the Longden world, in which the unexpected (almost) always happens...Aileen being Aileen, it was probably inevitable that sooner or later the kitten would be trapped in the refrigerator. And Deric being Deric, the obvious way to thaw him back to life was to make a little coat for him out of a shrunken thermal vest. Thus the cat who came in from the cold got his name - Thermal - and joined the wonderful cast of characters in the ongoing Longden saga.

This was a very touching and poignant novel, I thought it was a really delightful read.  This is basically a heart warming and sometimes heart wrenching tale of how one cat touched a family.  The ups and down of feline life.  I found it really well written and I immensely enjoyed the writing style; you could really hear the author’s voice through his written word.  A must read for all cat lovers!!

Well, as a cat lover, I guess I shall have to find myself a copy! On the wishlist it goes :)

It does sound like a lovely read. Maybe just what I need after finishing Broken! :)

I am a cat lover (and a dog lover). This book sounds interesting and I have added it to my list. I came to have my cat when I found him in a parking lot, so I know cats can come into our lives in unexpected ways!
