Blog Tour: Mortality by Kellie Sheridan

Hi Guys!  It's been a while since I've posted here on Chocolate Chunk Munkie, but what better way to return from my blogging break with a blog tour.  I am really excited about this tour as Mortality by Kellie Sheridan looks awesome.

For my stop of the tour I have a guest post by Kellie.

First off I'll kick off with some info about the book.

 Mortality by Kellie Sheridan

Released: 19th March 2013
Publisher: Snarky Books
Series: Yes, #1 in the Hitchhiker Strain Series
Author Site: Kellie Sheridan

Goodreads Synopsis:

After surviving a deadly plague outbreak, sixteen-year-old Savannah thought she had lived through the very worst of human history. There was no way to know that the miracle vaccine would put everyone at risk for a fate worse than un-death.

Now, two very different kinds of infected walk the Earth, intent on nothing but feeding and destroying what little remains of civilization. When the inoculated are bitten, infection means watching on in silent horror as self-control disappears and the idea of feasting on loved ones becomes increasingly hard to ignore.

Starving and forced to live inside of the abandoned high school, all Savannah wants is the chance to fight back. When a strange boy arrives with a plan to set everything right, she gets her chance. Meeting Cole changes everything. Mere survival will never be enough

Guest Post: Kellie Sheridan - My Favorite Internet Distractions

I need to invest in a typewriter. Either that, or I should just throw out the wonderful gadget that connects my desktop computer to the wifi network—that thing has cost me more hours than I could possibly count. You see, I am what you might call easily distracted. I can’t even seem to get through two hours of work without taking a brief break to check in on some of my favorite internet obsessions. In a world where almost anyone can become a content creator, there’s a lot of great stuff out there to keep you entertained. These are some of my favorites.

1. The Lizzie Bennet Diaries  Alright, this is all over the internet and you’re probably watching it already (if not, you should be!). My problem is that I seem to be watching every episode at least three times. They’re all so good! The Lizzie Bennet Diaries is a modern retelling of Price & Prejudice told through a series of scripted vlog style videos. The casting is great, the way the story is adapted for 2012/2013 is thought provoking, and overall it’s just a fun way to revisit one of our all-time favorite classics.

2. TwoXChromosomes  Now, if you’re not already a redditor, then you need to stop reading. Right now. This website seems to magically do away with most of my free time before I even know what’s happening, and it’s a tricky cycle to break out of because there is always something new on reddit. But it’s not all overused memes and cat gifs. TwoXChromosomes is a section of reddit dedicated to discussions about the ups and downs of being a female human. It’s an incredibly supportive and funny community, which engages in some really great (and at times, heartbreaking) discussions.

3. SourceFed I am not a news person. It’s hard for me to sit still long enough to watch the 6 o’clock broadcast or read the newspaper, so when I stumbled across SourceFed it was a perfect fit. Four days a week, SourceFed delivers short clips recapping the big news stories of the day, as well as discussions on everything from the big stories to pop culture. All six of the hosts are incredibly talented, intelligent, and hilariously funny, but the women are especially noteworthy, and are definitely the kind of girls I would love to hang out with, discussing video games and the newest tech trends. The SourceFed crew quickly start to feel like your friends hidden inside the computer, and how can you have more fun than that with the news?

4. RainyMood  This last one is less of a distraction and more of a way to make absolutely everything you do more wonderful. Rainy Mood is a website (and now an app) that makes it sound like there’s a thunderstorm going on inside of your computer. I love the sound of rain, so I’ll almost always have this on in the background—it’s especially great for leaving on while you’re reading a book. Or, occasionally I’ll just stare at the animated rain soaked window that makes up the webpage. I like rain that much.

What are some of your favorite internet distractions? Believe me, I’m always looking for more. I mean writing—I’m always writing. Yeah, that’s it.
