Then, in the midst of Kate's coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans. As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person whom she would really rather not meet. Henry's first wife, Persephone.

My Review:

I have to say I absolutely love stories about Greek mythology. As a child my parents would often watch films about this subject. So I’ve grown up with a love of all things mythological.

Goddess Interrupted is book two in the Goddess Test series, so I would recommend you read the first book which is called Goddess Test. The story carries on from the first book. Therefore I am not going to give too much of the story away in my review and I don’t want it to be a spoiler for people who have not read Goddess Test.

I have to say I was not disappointed with this book. The characters and the story line were great. I got a real taste of each characters nature and flaws. There’s a good mixture of heroes and villains, just enough to keep the reader on their toes.

The writing style flows nicely, which is what I enjoy in a book. Just enough detail without bogging the reader down.

The main character Kate was very likeable; she had certain qualities I could admire. She is by no means perfect, even if she is immortal. Sometimes it really does the reader good seeing character’s flaws, it somehow makes them more relatable. Well I just think Kate was awesome.

Would I read the next book in the series...... YES I would!! So I do highly recommend this book. But make sure you read Goddess Test first, this book follows on from there and you may get a little confused otherwise.

Story 4/5 – If you love a good love story with elements of the Greek Mythology then read this.

Cover Rating: 5/5 – I have to say that this cover really appeals to me, I love it. The girl is gorgeous and very goddess like.

** Thank you to Netgalley and the Publishers for the review copy. **

About The Author:

From the author biography ~

Aimée Carter was born and raised in Michigan, where she currently resides. She started writing fan fiction at eleven, began her first original story four years later, and hasn’t stopped writing since. Her first novel for young adults, The Goddess Test, will be published by Harlequin Teen in May 2011. The sequel, Goddess Interrupted, will follow in February 2012.

I'm really not very interesting at all. I attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and received a degree in Screen Arts and Cultures (a fancy way of saying I was forced to watch a lot of old movies) with a subconcentration in Screenwriting. I write. I watch a lot of new movies. Read a lot of books. Tweet too much. Love dogs and have two spoiled Papillons.

I'm represented by the magical Rosemary Stimola of Stimola Literary Studio, and on very rare occasions I blog over at WordPress.

This was such a good book! I read the ARC from NetGalley and just bought the finished version today and can't wait to read it again! I love Greek mythology, the only other book of the genre that I've read being the Percy Jackson books. I'm happy that Aimee Carter came along. :)

Great review!

This book is still on my to-read list. This list keeps growing and growing. I don't know how I will ever read them all! I love Greek mythology. I tried to find a college class just dedicated to that but, it wasn't offered. So I am drawn to this type of book. Thanks for the spoiler free review.

Interesting. I can't say I agree (I found Kate to be EXTREMELY annoying), but I liked how succinct your review was.

I thought Persephone died with her human lover. That's what it said in the first book. Odd.

Great review. I like that it's positive. :D

Just finished reading this book a few days ago. I gave 4 stars for the goddess test, but for this book I only gave 3. Well, after I had finished with the 1st book, I had an highly expectation with this book about Henry and Kate relationship. But I kinda a little bit upset when Henry turned to more like him at the very beginning of book 1. But I still can't wait for the 3rd book, and this series still I recommended as a must read series.

Thanks for the review, It's great :)

I absolutely loved The Goddess Test, so I had super high expectations for Goddess Interrupted. I was slightly disappointed, but only because I'd set it up on a pedestal. All in all, it was very enjoyable and there were a lot of things that I really did like (except that ending - what a cliffhanger!!!).
