My Review:

Imagine a society controlled by a government who rehabilitate young offenders by wiping clean their memories and mind. But all is not as it seems........ We meet Kayla a teen who has been “slated”, she is re-homed with a new family and has to experience a whole new environment. But Kayla is different, she has flashbacks of memories from her past life. And this is not something that usually happens. In a bid to find out the truth, Kayla must face dangerous times for her and those around her.

 It’s been two days since I completed Slated and I am still buzzing about this book. I think it will be one of the top books I’ve read this year.

 The books starts off at a fast pace and doesn’t really stop until the end. This book is so worthy of a five out of five stars. It was an absorbing read, I was totally engrossed in this book, so much so that I felt really niggled when anyone disturbed my reading.

 I love the main character Kayla, she is a very complex and interesting character. You can’t help but root for her and her quest to find the truth

. I have to say I am very eager for the next in the series; it has certainly whetted my appetite for more. Great story and a great book. I would highly recommend this!  

Story Rating: 5/5 - An explosive dystopian roller coaster.

Cover Rating - 4/4 - I think this cover is brilliant, very effective.  I would certainly stop and take notice of this cover.

About The Author:

Teri has lived in France, Canada, Australia and England at more addresses than she can count, acquiring three degrees, a selection of passports and a silly name along the way. Past careers have included scientist, lawyer, optometrist, and, in England, various jobs in schools, libraries and an audiobook charity. The footpaths and canal ways of the Buckinghamshire Chilterns where she now lives inspired much of the setting of Slated. She hates broccoli, likes cats, and has finally worked out what she wants to do when she grows up.
