Wishlist Wednesday #8

Every Wednesday, Dani at Pen To Paper features Wishlist Wednesday, a meme in which you can list a book that you really want to read or keep meaning to get. These are books that you want to add to your wishlist, and believe me there are plenty!  I've decided to use Dani's feature every Wednesday :)
So what do you need to do to join in?
  • Follow Pen to Paper as host of the meme.
  • Pick a book from your wishlist that you are dying to get to put on your shelves.
  • Do a post telling your readers about the book and why it's on your wishlist.
  • Add your blog to the linky at the bottom of her post.
  • Put a link back to pen to paper (http://vogue-pentopaper.blogspot.com) somewhere in your post.
  • Visit the other blogs and enjoy!

So here is my book for this weeks Wishlist Wednesday:

 The Apothecary by Maile Meloy

Goodreads Synopsis:

It's 1952 and the Scott family has just moved from Los Angeles to London. Here, fourteen-year-old Janie meets a mysterious apothecary and his son, Benjamin Burrows - a fascinating boy who's not afraid to stand up to authority and dreams of becoming a spy. When Benjamin's father is kidnapped, Janie and Benjamin must uncover the secrets of the apothecary's sacred book, the Pharmacopoeia, in order to find him, all while keeping it out of the hands of their enemies - Russian spies in possession of nuclear weapons. Discovering and testing potions they never believed could exist, Janie and Benjamin embark on a dangerous race to save the apothecary and prevent impending disaster.
Together with Ian Schoenherr's breathtaking illustrations, this is a truly stunning package from cover to cover.

I saw this book a few weeks back being advertised and the cover instantly had my attention.  It is so sweet!  After reading the blurb I thought, Yep that looks intersting :D so on my ever growing wishlist it went!

oh wow that sounds really good! Another one to the to-read pile... *sigh* I think, even if I ever win the lotto and have money to buy all the books I'd ever want, I will never be able to read them all. Even if all I did was read all day, every day ^_^

Sounds a really good book and if the illustrations are as good as the cover, will be fab!

Potions and nuclear weapons? That does sound different and interesting. I'll be checking the library for it.

My wish book is here.
